Fractions
Fractions is a foundational skill in mathematics. By the end of 5th grade, we should be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions. Here are some practice and refresher links to keep the ideas fresh in our minds.
Pencil and PaperOn index cards, create 52 fraction cards(all less than one) using the denominators of 2,3,4,5,6,8,10. Examples: (1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 5/8, 3/10)
Fraction war - 2 players (normal war but highest fraction wins) Fraction speed - 2 players, both players flip a card, 1st one to add them together wins a point. After 26 turns, highest points win. (Can change rules to subtract, multiply or divide). |
